CoreBond Research Series
CBRS is an independent technical research series by Todd Kirton. It focuses on consequential trust decisions in modern technical systems: authentication outcomes, device claims, attestations, policy results, audit records, recovery actions, retained state, and other signals that downstream systems may rely on.
The work is motivated by a simple problem: systems can be locally correct and still reach an overextended conclusion. A credential can be valid without proving every later claim. Evidence can be real without becoming a verdict. Memory can be useful without becoming authority. A decision can be correct at one time and unsafe to reuse later.
The series and the Bounded Trust Framework are meant to make those boundaries visible before consequential systems quietly treat limited support as durable confidence.
CBRS is independent technical research by Todd Kirton. It examines the same broader problem space that informed CoreBond Technologies, but it is not product documentation, a commercial claim, an implementation specification, or a disclosure of protected product architecture.
Research posture
Start with what the system says is true, then ask what actually supports it.
Evidence, authority, decisions, and consequences each have limits.
Freshness, retained state, recovery, and change can alter what a prior result means.
An observation may inform a decision without becoming the decision itself.
Current review status
The source series is frozen. BTF v1.2 incorporates internal red-team and adversarial stress-test findings and has been mapped against established security architectures. External technical review and hostile application remain part of the research agenda.
